Medical Technologist/Technician
Physicians Group Laboratories is a new generation of laboratory testing and patient care.
We provide PCR diagnostic laboratory testing and service providers across the entire state of Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
As a Medical Technologist/Technician at Physicians Group Laboratories, you will be working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Medical/Laboratory Director and Laboratory Manager, provide state-of-the-art laboratory specimen testing.
Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of the laboratory.
Ensures laboratory practices focus on and guarantee patient safety.
Responsible for laboratory testing performed on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients.
Responsible for Physicians Group Laboratories technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, including instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration.
Processes laboratory specimens.
Performs operation, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Manages daily operations of assigned department/s
Maintains objectivity in decision-making, utilizing facts to support decisions.
Manages to eliminate boundaries to achieve integrated, efficient, and quality service Achieves ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Serves as a resource to employees and customers as demonstrated by visibility and knowledge of issues Demonstrates flexibility in response to change.
Anticipates and responds to problems and risks.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Master’s Degree in Allied Health Specialty and/or
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor
Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent and/or
Certified (registered) or registry-eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency, e.
g.
ASCP, HHS, AMT.
