Medical Assistant

We are currently looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team in Houma, LA! Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:45 am - 5:00 pm, Rotating Saturdays 7:45 am - 12:00 pm, 1 every 4th Saturday.
Essential Functions: * Interviews patients, gathers past medical history and current medications, reason for visit, and records information on patients' charts * Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination * Cleans and sterilizes instruments * Gives injections and performs routine hearing test * Assists providers with in-office procedures such as thyroid ultrasounds, home sleep studies, skin prick allergy testing, and other surgical procedures.
* Call in prescription medications to pharmacies * Maintains a clean and safe environment.
Follows infection control procedures.
* Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information.
* Participates in follow-up phone calls and follow-up patient visits.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Job Requirements: * Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent work experience is required.
* Attention to detail.
* Team Player.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Ability to understand and document medical terminology appropriately and efficiently * Previous injection administration preferred.
* Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
